Royalty Crowned For Schnellville Sesquicentennial

KYANA (NNDC) – The first official event of Schnellville’s 150th Anniversary celebration took place Saturday with the queen’s contest held at Pine Ridge Elementary School.

Hailey Thayer was crowed queen for this upcoming weekend’s celebration and will reign as Miss Schnellville Sesquicentennial.

Hailey is the 17 year old daughter of Douglas and Janice Thayer.

A junior at Forest Park High School, she is a member of the state champion Marching Rangers, sectional champion bowling team, and tennis team. She is also a member of the Busy Bees 4-H club where she has received multiple grand champion awards and St. Anthony Catholic Church. Hailey enjoys spending time with her horses and listening to music with her brother.

Meanwhile, Claire Eckert was named Junior Miss Schnellville Sesquicentennial.

Claire is the 11 year old daughter of Matt and Tonya Eckert.

A 6th grader at Cedar Crest Intermediate School, she participates in basketball, soccer, FPJH dance, and has made the honor roll. Claire is a member of Busy Bees 4-H club, participated in actor’s community theater summer production, involved with “Circle of the State with Song”, gold medalist at Solo & Ensemble, and received the Social Studies Academic Effort Award.

Also crowned Saturday were six-year old Nathan Verkamp as Little Mister and seven-year old Ella Hopf as Little Miss Schnellville Sesquicentennial.
