Robert L. Durcholz, 82, Jasper

Robert DurcholzRobert L. Durcholz, 82, of Jasper, died Sunday (September 13) at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born in Jasper August 29, 1933, to Lawrence and Hilda (Oeding) Durcholz. He married Mary Kapp March 5, 1958, at St. Meinrad. She died December 19, 2007.

Robert was retired from Jasper Office Furniture Company (JOFCO) in Jasper. He was a U.S. Army veteran from 1955 to 1957 and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by one son, Gary Durcholz and wife Mary Ann, St. Anthony; one son-in-law, Stan Scherle, Jasper; three grandchildren, Kim Dutkosky, Kara Glendening, and Mitchell Durcholz; four great-grandchildren, Marek and Natia Dutkosky and Josslyn and Kendyl Glendening; and one brother, Harold Durcholz and wife Virlee, Ferdinand.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Scherle, and one brother, Lawrence Durcholz.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church with entombment following in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Jasper VFW Post No. 673 will conduct military gravesite rites.
