Wilma J. Cronin, 86, Huntingburg

WilmaWilma J. Cronin, 86, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday (September 9) at The Waters of Huntingburg. She was born in Princeton October 29, 1928, to Bennett “Madison” and Viola Thelma (Rawls) Brown. She married Lawrence Cronin, Sr. August 2, 1953, at Salem Church in Huntingburg. Their marriage was sealed for time and eternity at the Oakland Temple, in Oakland, California in July of 1968. He died in 1990.

Wilma was a housekeeper for various businesses and homes and worked as an ordinance worker at the Atlanta Temple in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Jasper where she served as primary teacher, relief society president, and primary president.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean Doug and husband Stephen, Kennesaw, Georgia, and Rhonda LeClere and husband Jim, Huntingburg; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence “Larry” Earl Cronin, Jr.; one sister, Dorothy Lois; and one brother who died in childbirth.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Satruday at the Church of Latter Day Saints with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Bishop Christian Kelly will officiate at the services.
