Jasper Soccer Girls Win Big Over NDHS; Jeeps Remain Undefeated In Boys Tennis (SCOREBOARD)


Jasper 8 Northeast Dubois 0

At Dubois, The Jasper Girls Soccer team came away with an 8-0 win. Former Jasper teammates Cassey Wagner and Michelle Hedinger Smith, teammates on Jasper’s 2005 sectional and regional championship teams (the first sectional and regional titles in program history), are the current head coaches for the Jasper (Wagner) and Northeast Dubois (Hedinger) teams.

Jasper had eight different players score their eight goals as the Lady Wildcats improve to 9-1-1 on the season. Madisyn Hunt, Mallory Ahlbrand, Sara Carpenter, Reagan Otto, Brittany Haskins, Summer Herzog, Anna Charron, and Lexi Mehringer all scored for Jasper.

Goalies Eli Verkamp (60 minutes) and Chloe Smith (20 minutes) shared in the shutout for Jasper. Northeast Dubois falls to 0-6-1 with the loss.

Forest Park 5 Boonville 5

At Boonville, the Lady Rangers score four second half goals and get a tie after six straight losses to open the 2015 season. Jasmine Jacob scores three goals to lead Forest Park; Shelby Louden added two. Louden and Claire Mehling each had an assist in the match.


Jasper 6 Heritage Hills 0

At Jasper, five first half goals set tone for the Wildcats who coast to a 6-0 win over visiting Heritage Hills. Elliott Prange and Garrett Jesperson lead the Wildcats with two goals apiece.


Northeast Dubois 4 Tecumseh 0

At Dubois, the Jeeps improve to 11-0 for the season with the win over the visiting Braves. The #1 singles match between the Jeeps’ Patrick Beta and THS’ Grant Pemberton was suspended at one-all (3-3 in the third set) because of darkness. The Jeeps won all four completed matches without losing a set.
