Gerald L. “Haggie” Hagemeyer, 76, Holland

Gerald HagemeyerGerald L. “Haggie” Hagemeyer, 76, of Holland, died Thursday (August 10) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Stendal August 8, 1939, to Emil and Ruth (Luker) Hagemeyer. He married Ruby “Pearl” East October 18, 1969, in Huntingburg.

Haggie was a graduate of Stendal High School. He was a diesel mechanic for Perkins Transportation and also worked as a tractor mechanic at Hagemeyer Implements. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal and Holland American Legion Post No. 343. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on anything mechanical.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby “Pearl” Hagemeyer; three daughters, Dana Sibrel and husband Jason, Holland, Donni Stephens and husband Dean, Bloomington, and Denise Twomley; one brother, Clifton Hagemeyer, Stendal; and six grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Hagemeyer; one grandson, Jaxon Sibrel, and three brothers, Wilker, Clifford, and Ralph Hagemeyer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Condolences may be shared online at Funeral services at 10 a.m. (EDT) Monday at the funeral home with burial following in St. Pete’s Cemetery in Stendal. Military graveside rites by the Holland American Legion memorial detail. Pastor Joe Kamman will officiate at the services.
