Antique Appraisal Day Scheduled at Dubois Library

Antiques InsideDUBOIS (NNDC) – The Antiques Road Show may not make it to Dubois County, but local antique buffs will have an opportunity next month to have their items appraised by an expert. The Friends of the Dubois Branch Library’s 2nd annual Antique Appraisal Day is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 3.

Anyone with old family heirlooms, great yard sale finds, or something purchased many years ago can have them appraised by Bloomington antique expert William J. Lawrence. Lawrence will explain what you have and tell you how much it is worth. He also spends time talking about antiques in general and what to look for in vintage items.

For each $5 dollar donation to The Friends, participants can have up to two items appraised. Advance tickets are available at the library that will hold a spot at a particular time if you don’t want to wait in line.

Everyone is welcome to attend, to have items appraised or just to observe. Additional information is available by calling 812 678-2548.
