Gatwood Appointed to Memorial Hospital Medical Staff

Gatwood-color copyJASPER (Local Sources) – Family Physician Isaac Gatwood, M.D. was recently appointed to the Active Medical Staff at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. He will provide primary care services at Memorial Hospital’s new Memorial Health Bristow clinic, which is scheduled to open in December 2015 at 26020 State Road 145 in Bristow, Indiana.

Dr. Gatwood (pictured) was raised in Perry County, less than a half mile from the future clinic location. He received his bachelor’s degree from University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed a residency in family medicine at Deaconess Health System in Evansville, Indiana.

Dr. Gatwood was the recipient of IU School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine Award and the Indiana Primary Care Scholarship. He volunteered for several organizations including Community Leadership Mentor Program at IU School of Medicine, St. Vincent de Paul Society in Indianapolis, and South Bend Center for the Homeless. He and his wife, Megan, serve as Executive Directors of Anderson Woods Summer Camp, which serves children and adults with special needs. He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

Dr. Gatwood “chose Memorial Hospital because it offered an opportunity to return to (his) hometown while working for a strong and innovative health system.” He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing music, participating in sports, and being outdoors.
