Rosemary BuechlerRosemary C. Buechler, 93, of Ferdinand, died Tuesday (September 8) at Brookside Village Assisted Living Community in Jasper. She was born in Ferdinand July 11, 1922, to Frank & Catherine (Lueken) Schipp. She married Herbert E. Buechler August 9, 1947, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He died December 28, 2003.

Rosemary was a retired postal worker in Ferdinand. She was a lifelong member of St. Ferdinand Parish and its St. Ann’s Sodality. She was a member of the Ferdinand Community Center and enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and baking. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Mike Buechler and wife Dorothy, Ferdinand; three daughters, Mary Ann Kempf and husband Tom, Sellersburg, Phyllis Willis and husband Keith and Margie Gilmore and husband Dan, all of Bretzville; son-in-law Eddie Reckelhoff, St. Anthony; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Reckelhoff, six sisters, Verena Ruhe, Louise Welp, Wilhemina Verkamp, Irma Brames, Leona Brames, and Frances Schipp, and one brother, Gilbert Schipp.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
