Flu Shots Available Next Week (with VIDEO)

JASPER (NNDC) – The flu season is just around the corner and the Dubois County Health Department’s adult seasonal flu vaccine clinics begin next week says Donna Oeding with the Dubois County Health Department…

The clinics will be held in the County Health Department on Jasper’s south side at 1187 South St. Charles Street. Most of the flu shots are covered by insurance.

Health officials say the best way to prevent the flu is for individuals to get a vaccination each fall. Everyone six months old and older should get a flu vaccine, but the pediatric flu clinic is not yet open. Those clinic dates will be announced soon.

No prescription is required to receive the flu shot and no appointment is necessary. Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body about two weeks after vaccination.
