Constance E. “Connie” Pfeffer, 97, Jasper

Connie PfefferConstance E. “Connie” Pfeffer, 97, of Jasper, died Wednesday (September 2) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born in Jasper May 9, 1918, to George and Frieda (Gutgsell) Baunach. She married Revard J. “Riff” Pfeffer February 16, 1939, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He died February 6, 1965.

Connie was a homemaker and worked at United Cabinet (now Masterbrand) for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, the Jasper Daughters of Isabell, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Alles and husband Bob, Jasper, and Bev Werner and husband Don, Jasper; one daughter-in-law, Sue Pfeffer, Longview, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Eric, Kevin, and Paul Hedinger, Revard and Keith Pfeffer, Brian, Stacy, and Todd Werner, Kristi Pierson, Angie Traylor, and Michael and Natalie Alles; and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Hedinger, one son, Ronald Pfeffer, one son-in-law, Donald “Butch” Hedinger, one great-grandson, Roman Pfeffer, and three sisters, Cornelia Stemle, Bernadette Lechner-Grannan, and Huberta Kippenbrock.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
