Rosina C. Mehringer, 97, Jasper

Rosina MehringerRosina C. Mehringer, 97 of Jasper, died Wednesday (August 26) at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Celestine November 21, 1917, to Herman J. and Katherine (Schroering) Schroeder. She had two marriages. The first was to Emil Mehringer November 27, 1945, at St Celestine Church. He died July 19th, 1984. Her second marriage was to Joseph Schwartz in 1988. He died May 12, 2007.

Rosina was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She enjoyed gardening and quilting.

She is survived by one step-daughter, Cynthia Krepco; two step-sons, Joseph and Charles Schwartz; one sister, Marie Beckman, Celestine; one brother, Norbert Schroeder, Jasper; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and two husbands she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernadette Schroering and Veronica Mehringer, and six brothers, Joseph, Alois, Edward, Jerome, Rev. Othmar, and Rev. Sylvester Schroeder.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church. The Holy Family Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary will pray the rosary at 2:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to a favorite charity.
