Tell City Woman Injured In Rollover Accident; Two Arrested For Drunk Driving (Police Blotter)

BRETZVILLE (NNDC) – A Tell City woman was injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident Sunday afternoon about a mile-and-a-half south of the Bretzville Junction.

28-year old Kerrie Risse told Dubois County sheriff’s deputies she was was traveling south on Indiana 162. Risse told DCSD she reached for her drink but fumbled the can. She says she did not realized her SUV had driven left of center as she attempted to pick the soft drink can off the passenger-side floorboard.

DCSD says Risse’s SUV ran off the east side of the highway and rolled at least once before coming to rest on its wheels.

DCSD says Risse was not able to get out of the vehicle on her own through the driver’s side door. Ferdinand VFD first responders were able to get the door open and get Risse out of the vehicle.

Risse was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for head and neck pain. She was treated and later released. Risse’s SUV was a total loss.

Police Looking For Accident Witness(es)
JASPER (NNDC) – The Jasper Police Department is asking that anyone who witnessed a two-vehicle accident at 15th and Newton streets Saturday morning to come forward.

JPD says the accident happened at 8:45AM. It involved a car driven by 68-year-old Russell Farris of Jasper and a pickup truck driven by 49-year-old Donna Weisman of Huntingburg.

JPD says Farris was westbound on 15th Street and Weisman was northbound on Newton at when the two vehicles collided. No one hurt. Both drivers told police they had the green light.

Huntingburg Man Arrested For Drunk Driving; Driving Without A License

Huntingburg — A local man was arrested Saturday afternoon for drunk driving and for driving a vehicle having never been licensed.

HPD says 34-year old Dolores Dubon-Orellano was stopped after the vehicle he was driving was observed crossing the center line on North Van Buren Street.

HPD says Dubon-Orellano’s vehicle nearly collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Police say Dubon-Orellano’s blood alcohol content tested .21%. Officers learned that Dubon-Orellano had never been licensed to operate a motor vehicle.

HPD says Dubon-Orellano complained of shortness of breath and was transported to Memorial Hospital.

He was taken to the Dubois County Security Center after getting medial clearance at Memorial.

Jasper Man Arrested For Driving While intoxicated.

JASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper man was arrested early Saturday morning for drunk driving.

Jasper police arrested 34-year old Justin Sheetz after police received a call asking them to check on the welfare of a passenger in a minivan.

Shortly after 3AM, JPD officers stopped the van at 36th and Newton streets.

JPD says officers detected an odor of alcohol coming from the driver (Sheetz).

JPD says Sheetz’s blood alcohol content test .091%.
