Lady Jeeps Lose For First Time; Soccer Wildcats Come Up Short Against Memorial (SCOREBOARD)

Loogootee (NNDC) – The Northeast Dubois Lady Jeeps lost their first match in three starts in the new season losting in four games at Blue Chip Conference foe Loogootee (22-25, 16-25, 25-22, 17-25).

Third-year Lady Jeep coach Jolynne Cruz says despite the loss, she liked the way her team played and says her program has taken a “leap in the right direction” with its 2-1 start to 2015.

Southridge 3 Tell City 1

Tell City (NNDC) – The Lady Raiders bounced back from their season opening loss at Washington with a road win over the host Lady Marksmen (25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 25-23).

Sydney Altmeyer led the way with 11 kills; Kayla Voegerl added 8.

Jasper 3 Princeton 1

Princeton (NNDC) – The Lady Wildcats opened the new season on the road with a win at Big 8 Conference foe Princeton (25-18, 25-14, 32-30, 25-14).

Michela Flamion with 17 kills for the Lady Wildcats.

2A #4 Evansville Memorial 2  Jasper 1

JASPER (NNDC) – The host Wildcats found themselves down 2-0 and halftime.  Jasper had its scoring opportunities in the second half but could only get a single goal from junior midfielder Corbin Kaiser with 18:02 remaining in the second half.  CLICK HERE TO WATCH HIGHLIGHTS

DUBOIS (NNDC) – The Lady Jeeps fell behind early in the match, allowing three goals in the first 15 minutes and Heritage Hills coasted from there.  Northeast Dubois falls to 0-2 with the loss.

Jasper 3  Evansville Reitz 0

Evansville (NNDC) – The Lady Wildcats traveled back to Evansville for the second time this week, and again game back with the shutout win.    Jasper got its first goal 16 minutes into the match when Brittany Haskins took a hard shot on the goalie who deflected the ball into a waiting Madisyn Hunt who knocked it in for Jasper’s first goal.

JHS head coach Cassey Wagner says the team’s depth and player rotation eventually wore Reitz down and Jasper controlled the action that final 20 minutes.

With 10 minutes left in the contest, Anna Charron sent a long pass to outside midfielder Hannah Love who took a quick dribble past a defender and hit a shot to the far post for her first varsity goal.  Just a minute later, Love sent a pass to Haskins for Jasper’s third goal.   Jasper is 2-0 on the season with a Big 8 match at Boonville on Monday.

DUBOIS (NNDC) –  The Jeeps roll to their third win in a row to open the 2015 season.
