Ferdinand Farmer Running for State Board Seat

cornINDIANAPOLIS (NNDC) – James Roesner of Ferdinand is one of five Indiana corn farmers running for two at-large seats on the Indiana Corn Marketing Council board of directors. The ICMC board manages state corn checkoff investments and determines promotional, educational, and research activities that can strengthen Indiana’s corn industry.

The election in Dubois County is taking place this week at the Purdue Extension office at 1482 Executive Boulevard in Jasper. Voting continues through Friday. Extension office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other candidates for the at-large seats are Sarah Delbecq, Auburn, Susan Hayhurst, Terre Haute, Robert Hippensteel, North Manchester, and Kelly Whiteman Snipes, Rochester.

According to the Indiana Corn Market Development Law, those who vote in the election of directors to the ICMC Board must be an Indiana producer, which is defined as Any person engaged in the business of producing and marketing corn in Indiana under the producer’s own name or the name of an entity in which the producer has ownership.
