Jasper Engines’ Star Safety Certificate Extended

vpp useINDIANAPOLIS (NNDC) – The Indiana Department of Labor has granted a three-year extension of the Star Certification of Jasper Engines and Transmissions in Indiana’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). The Wernsing Road facility earned its initial Merit Safety Certification in 2008 and achieved its Star Safety Certification in April of 2012.

In presenting the extension, Indiana Department of Labor Commissioner Rick Ruble said, “Please accept my hearty congratulations on your sustained excellence in all aspects of workplace safety and health.”

VPP was established to recognize and promote safety and health management programs throughout the state. All companies, regardless of size or business, can participate in VPP where management and employees work together to create and maintain a healthy working environment.

Jasper Engine’s safety director Jason Pieper said VPP is all about management commitment and associate involvement. He says, “I want to thank our executive team, our managers, and our leaders that do a great job supporting our safety programs. Earning and keeping Star Certification is where we want to be, as a company, in our continuing safety journey.”
