Huntingburg Man Charged On Multiple Felony Battery Charges

Huntingburg (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man faces multiple felony battery charges following what police say was a domestic dispute late Monday night.

Arrested was 25-year old Jesse Moore.   HPD says they responded to a domestic dispute in progress at about 11:25PM.

HPD says a female victim at the scene told officers Moore had hit her in the nose, choked her and threatened doing more harm to her.   The female also told police that when she tried to leave the residence with her children, Moore grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back.

Moore is charged with a Level 5 felony count of battery resulting in serious bodily injury and Level 6 felony counts of domestic battery in the presence of children and strangulation.  He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of intimidation.

Huntingburg Woman Charged With Obstruction Following Accident

REEDSCHNELLVILLE (NNDC) – A Huntingburg woman is charged with obstruction of justice after state police say she left the scene of an accident on East Schnellville Road Monday night.

Indiana State Police were called to the accident at about 8:20PM.  A witness told police the driver of an SUV left the scene on foot after crashing her vehicle along the 4000 block of East Schnellville Road.

The woman was later identified at 38-year old Brandy Reed of Huntingburg.

Troopers located Reed about a quarter mile from the scene of the accident.  ISP says Reed refused to submit to a certified chemical test.  Police then obtained a warrant for the test which was done at Memorial Hospital.  ISP says the test returned positive results for methadone, oxycodone, opiates and amphetamines.

Reed is charged with a Level 6 felony count of obstruction of justice along with misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated (drugs), driving while suspended with a prior conviction for that infraction, resisting law enforcement and leaving the scene of an accident.
