BIRDSEYE (NNDC) – Earlier this week, the Dubois County Sheriffs Department with the assistance of officers from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources recovered a boat that is believed to have been stolen.

The boat was recovered from a residence south of the Birdseye area.    The hull identification number has been removed.   The boat is thought to be a 1997 Fisher F20 Fish and Ski with a 200 HP mercury outboard motor.   It was also on a Fisher boat trailer.

Tips from the public helped law enforcement agencies find the owner of the boat.

DCSD says the boat is believed to have been stolen from its owner in the Leavenworth, Indiana area.

The owner plans to look at the boat in the near future to make a positive identification.

Officers from the Dubois County Sheriffs Department would like to thank the public for all of the tips on helping to move this case forward.

No arrests have yet been made.
