(EDITOR’S NOTE: The Jasper Library Board Wednesday night, after a more than three-hour work session, announced it will not decide tonight whether or not a new Jasper Library will be part of the proposed Arts & Cultural Center at the former Hoosier Desk building.  Board president Dean Vonderheide says more time is needed as the panel compares cost and benefits between the proposed center and remodeling & renovating the current library on Main Street.)

JASPER (NNDC) – The Jasper Library Board is expected to announce soon whether or not, a new Jasper public library will be part of a proposed Jasper Arts & Cultural Center to be housed in the former Hoosier Desk building.

The idea of the center came about when the city’s arts commission jumped into the fray about sharing space with a new library while preserving one of the city’s historical factories.

Its a “Good Deal for Jasper” says the arts commission president…
