New Schnitz Brewery & Pub Opens This Afternoon At 4!

JASPER (NNDC) – Jasper’s newest microbrewery opens today!

The doors to the Schnitz Brewery and Pub will officially open to the public at 4pm today!

The Schnitz Brewery and Pub of course has direct ties to Jasper’s famous Schnitzelbank Restaurant and the Hanselman family.

The microbrewery is owned by Alan Hanselman. The microbrewery is expected to turn out its first four home-recipe beers later this summer.

The Pub, which Alan co-owns with his sister Gail and father Larry, will offer a wide range of both domestic and foreign beers. It will also offer a menu that includes “Rosie’s Pizza,” the locally-famous pizza served exclusively for many years at the now-closed Calumet Lake Tavern & Dance Pavilion.

Rosie Rees and her husband Ed owned and operated the Calumet for many years and it was Rosie’s pizza recipe, known for generous portions of ingredients, that became a local and regional favorite.

The Schnitz Brewery & Pub is located in the basement of the new KlubHaus 61 event center (the former Jasper Country Club) just off Newton Street in Jasper.

Its hours of operation are 4pm to 10pm Tuesday through Friday, 12n to 10pm on Saturday and 12n to 6pm on Sunday.
