Suzanne H. Cooper, 72, Huntingburg

Suzanne Cooper editedSuzanne H. Cooper, 72, of Huntingburg, died Thursday (June 25) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg August 23, 1942, to John and Florence (Krempp) Struckman. She married Charles “Sonny” Cooper June 4, 1984. He died April 16, 2015.

Suzanne graduated from Indiana University with an education degree and later retired from being a school teacher. She was one of the co-founders of Cooper Rail Services. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, visiting Patoka Lake, reading, and gardening.

She is survived by one daughter, Kari Cronin and  husband Mike, Huntingburg; two sons, Ryan Cooper and wife Jill, and Kit Cooper and wife Arin, all of Huntingburg; two sisters, Jane Manuzak, Blairsville, Georgia, and Jill Kirkpatrick, Surprise, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Bailey, Jaxon, and Kyree Cronin, and Masen, Jaelyn, Brooklyn, Braxtyn Cooper, all of Huntingburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Scott Struckman.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. (EDT) Monday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Humane Society.  Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com.
