No One Hurt In Jasper Chain Reaction Accident

JASPER (NNDC) – No one was hurt in a three vehicle chain-reaction accident in Jasper Tuesday afternoon.

Jasper police say all three vehicles were northbound on Newton Street just north of 13th Street shortly before 5pm. Police say a pickup truck driven by 25-year old Clay Poindexter of Jasper failed to stop for stopped traffic in front of him and collided into the rear of a car driven by 37-year old Jose Palencia of Huntingburg. The impact of the collided forced Palencia’s vehicle into the back of a car driven by 20-year old Casandra Blair of Jasper.

No one was hurt. Blair’s car was considered a total loss.

Local Woman Arrested After Accident Near Duff

DUFF (NNDC) – A Huntingburg woman was arrested for drunk driving after her car crashed southeast of Duff Tuesday morning.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 21-year old Tabitha Kline was northbound on Duff Road Southeast near South 600 West at about 7:10 Tuesday morning when her car ran off the road and into a large ditch.

Kline was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Jasper where she was treated for head and neck pain. Her blood alcohol content tested .139%.

After being treated at the hospital, Kline was taken into custody charged with a misdemeanor count of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.

One Hurt In Tuesday Morning SUV/Minivan Accident

JASPER (NNDC) – No one was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning southeast of Jasper.

DCSD says 36-year old Brooke Messmer-Cook was eastbound on the Indiana 162 Bypass when she attempted to make a right turn to continue on 162. Messmer-Cook had stopped for a red light before turning when her minivan was rear-ended by an SUV driven by 62-year old Betty Survance of Loogootee. The accident happened at about 7:50am.

Survance told DCSD she did not realize the Cook’s vehicle had stopped.

Messmer-Cook complained of head and arm pain after the accident but was not transported to the hospital. DCSD says both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Local Woman Stopped For Burned Out License Plate Light; Arrested For Drunk Driving

JASPER (NNC) – Jasper police say 22-year old Whitney Neukam of Jasper was arrested early Tuesday morning after her vehicle was stopped by JPD for having an inoperable license plate light. She was stopped at 36th Street and Hartford Drive shortly before 3am.

JPD says Neukam’s blood alcohol content was .10%. She’s been charged with a misdemeanor count of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.

One Cited Following Rear-End Accident

JASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper man was cited by police following a two-vehicle rear-end collision late Monday afternoon. Jasper police say the acciedent happened at about 5:30pm on U.S. 231 near Second Street.

JPD says 25-year old Azucena Cruz was northbound on U.S. 231. She stopped for traffic at Second Street when her vehicle was rear-ended by a car driven by 18-year-old Jessica Lubbehusen of rural Huntingburg.

Lubbehusen was cited by police for Following Too Closely.
