Eugene Street, 88, Emmons Ridge

EditedEugene  Street, 88, of the Emmons Ridge area, died Sunday (June 21) at The Timbers of Jasper. He was born in Knox County September 18, 1926, to Charles and Anna Street. He married Marilyn Ruth Quinn February 11, 1950.

Eugene was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II. He was employed at National Gypsum and The Southern Railroad and was a member of the French Lick American Legion Post No. 76. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Street; two daughters, Karen Haefling and husband Ronald, Dubois; and Gloria Jean Cox, Jasper; one son, Duane Street (Allen Sullivan), French Lick; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and eight great- great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Edward Street, and eleven brothers and sisters.

Services at 10 a.m. Saturday at T.L Pinnick Mortuary, 785 South Bears Bend Rd., French Lick, with Rev. Terry L. Pinnick officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmons Ridge Cemetery in Hillham with military graveside rites. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
