Dubois County Still Owns State’s Lowest Unemployment Rate

Number one artINDIANAPOLIS (NNDC) – Dubois County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate among the 92 counties in Indiana.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development reports the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for the Month of May list Dubois County’s unemployment rate at 3.2 percent, lowest in the state, just ahead of Hamilton County with 3.4 percent, and LaGrange and Bartholomew counties with 3.5 percent.

The May employment report lists a labor force of 22,628 with 21,907 employed in Dubois County, up from 21,962 with 21,219 employed in April. The unemployed figure for May is 721.

Dubois County’s 3.2 unemployment rate is in contrast with Vermillion County’s 7.1 rate and Lake County’s 6.9
