UPDATE: Three Juveniles Arrested For Mini-Bike Theft; Police Found Additional Stolen Items (BLOTTER)

JASPER (NNDC) – Jasper police say three juveniles have been arrested in connection with a mini-bike reported stolen sometime overnight Wednesday/Thursday from a home on Briarcliff Parkway.

Also, police say they during the their investigation of the stolen mini-bike, they recovered electronic devices that have not yet been reported stolen.

JPD is asking if anyone has had a vehicle broken into, specifically people who live in the Meridian Road/Arlington Courts area, and did not report the theft, to call JPD headquarters and ask for detective Sgt. Rick Chambers.

Meanwhile, the juveniles have been charged with theft; they have been released into the custody of their guardians.


JASPER (NNDC) – A 39-year old Jasper man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for operating his motor scooter while intoxicated.

Jasper police say Jocob Volz was spotted by an on-duty officer driving the scooter north on Meridian Road north of Indiana 162.  JPD says the officer observed the scooter swerving in the driving lane as well as driving left of center.  Police say the scooter also struck a curb and nearly struck a stop sign.

He was stopped in the 900 block of Second Avenue by police.  Police say a blood draw from Volz taken at Memorial Hospital showed his blood alcohol content was .21% at the time.

He is charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
