Rueger Recognized For Long Career To City Of Huntingburg

HUNTINGBURG (Local Sources) – Long time Huntingburg Parks & Recreation Director Jim Rueger was presented with the Gold Leaf Award during today’s Huntingburg Chamber of Commerce annual luncheon.

Rueger has headed the city’s parks department for the last 38 years.

New chamber Executive Director Elizabeth Bartelt presented the award to Rueger during the chamber’s 21st annual luncheon held at the Huntingburg Event Center.

Howard Kellman, an Indianapolis sports broadcaster and the long-time radio and television voice of the Indianapolis Indians was the luncheon’s keynote speaker.  His speech included stories from  his 2010 book, “61 Humorous and Inspiring Lesson’s I Learned from Baseball.”
