VUJC Offering Film-Making Camp; Instructor Grew Up In Jasper

pic18190JASPER (NNDC) – Vincennes University Jasper Campus will offer as part of their Kids’ College, “The Art and Craft of Filmmaking,” which will teach students a solid foundation to develop and create their own movie and provide the steps it takes to turn that vision from thought to reality.

The class will be held Tuesday thru Friday, June 9 – 12, 8:30 to 12 noon, for participants entering grades 6 and up. Cost is $99 and includes T-shirt.

The class will provide hands on training and guidance in the creative process, utilizing and understanding what tools are needed to make the film project fun, memorable, and how to get the student’s message to the world.

Students must bring a video recording device such as camcorder, flip camera, smart phone or I-Pad. Students without video equipment may inquire about a limited supply of cameras available for loan. Call 812-481-5937 for details.

Jordan Jones (pictured), a Los Angeles actor and filmmaker will teach the class. Jones states, “I can assure the students involved will leave the class with a higher knowledge and understanding to the art and craft of filmmaking. My intention is to inspire the students to try new things; and if this class can open them up towards pursuing a career in the arts or appreciate film more; then I’ve done my job.”

About the instructor:
Jordan Jones was born in 1985 in Connecticut and raised in Jasper, Indiana. Jones’s dream throughout his life was to be on the ‘Silver-Screen’. Shortly after high school he moved to Los Angeles.

Within two months Jones landed a job as a screen-writer/host for a closed circuit TV Show titled “EB TV” which aired in every ‘EB Games’ and ‘Electronic Boutique’ (now Game Stop) store across the globe. His mother, Caroline, and father, Michael, both worked in the Entertainment Industry. Jones has spent his whole life immersed in every aspect of “The Arts” with his parents being his leading inspiration. He has lived and worked as an Actor/Model overseas in Europe. Some of Jones’s recent film credits are ‘Killing Uncle Roman’, ‘Blademaster’, ‘The Love Punch’, & ‘The Crystal Crypt’.

Jones just recently returned from Acting on tour with his portrayal of ‘Tony Stark’ in ‘Marvel Universe Live’ which is currently the largest traveling show in the world and the very first Marvel Arena, Theatre show.

Jones also is an avid Martial Artist and a Certified Instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto (Protege & Best Friend of the late Bruce Lee). He has studied over twenty five different Martial Art Systems and teaches Jun Fan Gung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Silat, as well as stage combat and fight choreography for Theatre and Film.
