Jasper Number 1 In IHSBCA 3A Poll

The Jasper Wildcats moved from number two to number one in the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association’s week 6 Top 10 Class 3A poll. Released Wednesday, the poll included games played through Saturday, May 9.

Jasper is 2-1 since the poll was taken, defeating Gibson Southern Monday, losing its first game of the season Tuesday at Mt. Vernon, and then coming back with an 11-2 win at Vincennes last night. The Wildcats, now 20-1, replace Hanover Central in the top spot. They will host the Jasper Hall of Fame Classic Friday and Saturday at Ruxer Field.

The Northeast Dubois Jeeps weren’t in the top 10, but they received votes in the Class 1A poll. Pioneer is number one in 1A, Loogootee is number 10. Indianapolis Cathedral is tops in 4A with a 16-1 record, losing only to Jasper. Knightstown is number one in 2A, South Spencer is number 3.
