DUBOIS (NNDC) – A local man was taken into police custody Monday night charged with a Level 5 felony count of intimidation with a deadly weapon after authorities say he struck and kicked a female victim at home north of the Dubois Crossroads.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 43-year old Dustin Gould who lives in home, was still there when they arrived on scene shortly after 9pm. He initially did not respond to commands to come out of the house, but did come out a short time later. Meanwhile, deputies found the female victim walking along Hickory Grove Road about 150 yards from the house.

The woman told deputies Gould had struck and kicked her. He also broke her cellphone; damaged several TVs in the house as well as punch several holes in walls inside the house.

The woman also told deputies Gould threatened her with a handgun. Officers did recover a gun.

Gould is charged with a Level 5 felony count of intimidation with a deadly weapon. He’s also charged with domestic battery and interference with reporting a crime, both misdemeanors.

DCSD says Gould’s blood alcohol content also tested .22% when he was booked into the Dubois County Security Center about an and half after he was taken into custody.
