Erwin W. “Huck” Huckelby, 79, Otwell

HuckErvin W. “Huck” Huckelby, 79, of Otwell, died Monday at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born in Russell Springs, Kentucky, October 24, 1935, to William and Lula (Stargell) Huckelby. He married Phyllis Chandler September 11, 1954. She died June 26, 1995.

Ervin was a welder and mechanic and owned and operated Huckelby’s Small Engine in Washington.

He is survived by two daughters, Robin Barnett and husband Donnie, Velpen, and Lisa Miller and husband David, Huntingburg; five sons, Mike Huckelby and partner Christie Mundy, Ferdinand, Tim Huckelby and wife Carol, Huntingburg, John Huckelby and partner Sandy Leonard, Otwell, Mark Huckelby and wife Pam, Ireland, and Steve Huckelby, Jasper; one brother, Finley Cravens, Trafalgar; one sister, Annie Stafford, Franklin; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Services at 10 a.m. (EDT) Friday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to assist with burial expenses.
