IHSAA Announces New Sectional Realignments

JASPER (NNDC) – The IHSAA Executive Committee has approved the sectional assignments in eight team sports for the next two school years.

The Executive Committee unanimously accepted the recommendations of the respective realignment committees which determined the sectional groups for the 2015‐16 and 2016‐17 school years.

Locally, Princeton will replace Mitchell in Class 3A sectionals for Baseball, Boys & Girls Basketball.  Princeton joins Jasper, Southridge, Vincennes Lincoln, Pike  Central and Washington.  Mitchell moves down to 2A. Pike Central replaces Heritage Hills which is being moved to Sectional 31.

In Class 1A, Springs Valley is now in Sectional 64 that includes Northeast Dubois, Cannelton, Evansville Day, Tecumseh and Wood Memorial.

In football, Southridge moves up to Class 3A due to its increased enrollment.  The Raiders will join Brown County, Brownstown Central, Charlestown, Corydon Central, Heritage Hills, North Harrison, and Salem.
