William J. “Bill” Rauscher, 82, Evansville

Bill RauscherWilliam J. “Bill” Rauscher, 82, of Evansville, died Thursday (April 30) at The Sterling House in Evansville. He was born in Huntingburg August 26, 1932, to Jacob and Lydia (Hammelman) Rauscher.

Bill as a comptroller and was employed by the I.R.S., the Huntingburg Furniture Company, Olinger Construction Company, and Kimball International, where he worked for 31 years and retired. He was a graduate of Evansville College, a member of Huntingburg United Methodist Church, a former member of the Huntingburg Country Club board of directors and the Huntingburg Library Board, where he served as treasurer and director.

He is survived by one son, Bret Rauscher and wife Debi, Evansville; two sisters, Joan Sisson, Newburgh, and Doris Ferguson and husband Larry, Huntingburg; two grandsons, Joshua and Joey Rauscher; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Schnell) Rascher, who died September 9, 2013, and one brother, Larry Lee Rauscher.

Services at 11 a.m. (EDT) Monday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Rev. Lee Campbell will officiate. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
