Lucile C. Peach, 96, Huntingburg

Lucille PeachLucile C. Peach, 96, of Huntingburg, died Sunday (March 29) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg April 5, 1918, to Harvey and Clara (Hunefeld) Wessel. She married Don Peach October 2, 1949, at Methodist Church in Huntingburg. He died May 24, 2000.

Lucile was a retired secretary for First National Bank. She was a graduate of Huntingburg High School, a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church, and an active participant in the Eastern Star and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, embroidery work, and quilting.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Lindeman and husband William, Ferdinand, and Cheryl Cravens and husband Norman, Huntingburg; one sister, Ruth King, Huntingburg; seven grandchildren, David and Cynthia Lindeman, Ronald Rogier, John and Robert Franzell, Melinda Lee, and Michelle Cary; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Dorris and Jean Peach, one son who died in infancy, David Allen Peach, one sister, Laverne Helmerich, three brothers, Alfred, Edgar, and Wilbur Wessel, and one grandson, Greg Rogier.

Services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Rev. Lee Campbell will officiate. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial services will be conducted by the Eastern Star and the V.F.W.
