Lillian M. Wininger, 93, Dubois

Wininger, LillianLillian M. Wininger, 93, of Dubois, died Friday (March 27) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born in Martin County March 14, 1922, to Edward and Anna (Mann) Harder. She married Ralph Wininger January 14, 1945, in St. John’s Church at the Dubois Crossroads. He died December 18, 2008.

Lillian worked at the sewing factory in Martin County Company and at the Indiana Cabinet Company in Dubois, from which she retired in 1985. She was a member of St. John’s where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the choir. She enjoying sewing and crocheting and playing guitar.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Jones and husband Jacob and Shirley Jones and husband Charles, all of Dubois; one son, Jim Wininger and wife Paula, Dubois; eight grandchildren, Marcie, Shara, Chad, Angie, Deanna, Tess, Chris and Julie; one step-grandson, Jarrod; 17 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Karl Harder, Jasper, Tom Harder and wife Clara Ann, Shoals, and Bill Harder and wife Dot, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Harder, and two brothers, Edgar and Howard Harder.

Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Mary Poston will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
