GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology track and field team earned two Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors as senior Blake Schulthies was named the conference’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and freshman Gabi Razma was honored as the HCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Schulthies won three events as the Fightin’ Engineers placed first at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Meet Saturday. The senior won the 110-meter hurdles with a winning time of 15.24 and claimed the title in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.97. Schulthies then anchored the winning 1,600-meter relay team with a time of 3:25.56.

The Rose-Hulman men’s claimed the team title at the seven-team meet.

Razma won the triple jump at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Meet Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. The Durango, Colo., native won the triple jump with a winning leap of 35′ 10″, coming just two inches shy of breaking the Rose-Hulman school record. The Engineer women finished second at the seven team meet.

Rose-Hulman continues its outdoor season next Saturday (March 28) at the Hanover Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
