Richard Englert, 65, St. Anthony

Richard EnglertRichard Englert, 65, of St. Anthony, died Monday (March 23) at his home under the care of Heart to Heart Hospice. He was born in St. Anthony September 24, 1949, to Oscar and Lorena (Mehringer) Englert. He married Mary Lou Parker July 13, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Richard was a member of the Jasper High School class of 1967. He retired from Jasper Office Furniture Company after 42 years where he was a production supervisor. He was a member of St. Anthony Church. He enjoyed wine making, mowing, cutting wood, working with his tractor, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Englert; two sons, Duane Englert and wife Chris, Bretzville, and Darin Englert and wife Amber, Saint Anthony; six grandchildren. Paige, Andi, Ben, Sam, Tatum and Adam; five sisters, Norma Braunecker and husband Charles, Linda Luebbehusen and husband Thomas, Mary Jane Boehman and husband Gene, Theresa Schwartz and husband Leroy, all of Ferdinand, Betty Ingle and husband Terry, and Barb Messmer and husband Don, all of Saint Anthony; and eight brothers, Kenny Englert and wife Martha, Ferdinand, Denny Englert and wife Donna, Norb Englert, Bill Englert and wife Darlene, Gary Englert and companion Joyce Stillwell, and Jim Englert and wife Leah, all of St. Anthony, Fred Englert and companion Jeannie Breitweiser, Schnellville, and Brian Englert and wife Luanne, Lamar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Englert, and one sister, Clara Mae Englert, who both died in infancy.

Services at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or to the American Stroke Association.
