Winslow Man’s Death Under Investigation; Reward Offered For Jasper Storage Unit Thefts (BLOTTER)

WINSLOW (WTVW/WEHT) – The death of a Winslow man is under investigation. His body was found Sunday afternoon.

The body of 41-year-old Anthony Arnett was found at around 4:40 p.m. Sunday about a half-mile from his home. The body was found along South Pike County Road 300 East.

An autopsy by the Pike County Coroner’s Office is scheduled for Monday.

Pike County authorities were initially called to Arnett’s home on a domestic disturbance call.

Huntingburg Man Arrested For Drunk Driving

HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – A Huntingburg was taken into custody early Sunday morning now charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Huntingburg police say they stopped a car for speeding near 22nd and Main Street shortly before 3:30am Sunday.

HPD says it was determined the driver, Valentin Olivarez had been drinking. Police say his blood alcohol content tested .11%.

Vincennes Man Arrested For Drunk Driving

JASPER (NNDC) – A Vincennes man was arrested Saturday night charged with operating a motor vehicle.

Jasper police say 35-year old Jared Dixon’s blood alcohol content tested .22%, more than three times the legal limit in Indiana.

A Jasper police officer observed Dixon’s vehicle driving north on Newton Street shortly before 10:30pm Saturday.

JPD says the vehicle turned west onto 13th Street. Police say the vehicle cut across the northbound turn lane and across the southbound lane of Newton in what police say was an unsafe manner. JPD says Dixon’s vehilce narrowly missed colliding with a southbound vehicle.

Police say Dixon’s vehicle was then observed making an illegal U-turn to return to the intersection of 13th and Newton where the vehicle then north onto Newton Street.

Dixon’s vehicle was stopped near 14th and Newton.

JPD says Dixon failed two standard field sobriety tests and thenrefused to complete a third.

Dixon was taken to Memorial Hospital where police say he refused a chemical test.

Police were able to obtain a warrant to seize bodily fluids from Dixon. JPD says it was then determined Dixon had B.A.C. of .22%.

Storage Unit Break-Ins Under Investigation; Reward Offered

JASPER (NNDC) – Jasper police say they are investigating several break-ins of storage units in the 400 block of Truman Road.

JPD says it was discovered this past Friday that locks were cut from several storage units and items inside the units were taken.

JPD says the Community Strike Force Against Violence is offering a $750 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people involved.
