Wendell “Butch” Selvidge, 70, Duff

Wendell SelvidgeWendell “Butch” Selvidge, 70, of Duff, died Friday (March 20) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 2, 1944, to George and Dorothy (Martin) Selvidge. He married Judy A. Meyerholtz July 31, 1987, in Huntingburg.

Butch was a retired contractor and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Duff Conservation Club and Dubois County Lodge No. 520 F&AM.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Selvidge; one daughter, Sherry Selvidge, Morgantown, Kentucky; four sons, Wayne Selvidge, Huntingburg, Mitcdhell and Wesley Selvidge, both of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Michael Selvidge, Glasgow, Kentucky; two stepdaughters, Amy Marley and Deb Combs, Huntingburg; three stepsons, Perry Welp, Ferdinand, Joseph Welp, Huntingburg, and Martin Welp, Huntingburg and Haiti; two sisters, Janet Kellog, Springfield, Ohio, and Sharen Hickenbottom, McMinnville, Tennessee; one brother, George Selvidge, Jr., Altus, Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was prededed in death by one son, Steve Vanover, McCreary County, Kentucky.

Services at 2 p.m. (EDT) Saturday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Mayo Cemetery near Duff. Pastor Darrel Land will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A Masonic memorial service will be conducted by Dubois County Lodge No. 520 at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
