First Of Huntingburg Stellar Projects To Begin Soon

HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – The Huntingburg Redevelopment Commission formally awarded bids for the first three Stellar Communty projects the city has scheduled over the next couple of years.

Work on the Ninth Street extension to Monkhaus Drive has been awarded to Knies Construction of Jasper at a cost of $662,800.

Ninth Street will connect Styline Drive and Moenkhaus Drive as part of the overpass project. The extension is expected to be completed sometime in September or October.

The contracts for needed renovations to both the Huntingburg Police Department headquarters and the city’s two fire stations has been awarded to Jasper Lumber Company.

The contract for the police station is $978,329; the contract for the fire stations is $804,304.

Work on all three buildings is expected to take six to eight months to complete.
