Edward E. Bauer, 80, Jasper

Eddie BauerEdward E. Bauer, 80, of Jasper, died Monday (March 16) at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born in Dubois October 11, 1934, to Pete and Irene (Wolf) Bauer. He married Joan Schnarr June 11, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township.

After 40 years at Kimball International, Edward retired as engineering manager. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, woodworking, horseshoe pitching, playing cards and
dominoes, and sports.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Bauer; two daughters, Debra Kempf and husband Alan, and Karen Stenftenagel and husband Scott, all of Jasper; one son, Thomas Bauer and wife Lynn, Jasper; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl Bauer and wife Robin, Jasper.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Linus Bauer, and two sisters, Martha Weisheit and Linda Bauer.

Services at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church.
