Connie Lynn HouchinConnie Lynn Houchin, 56, of Ferdinand, died Saturday (March 14) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Princeton December 27, 1958, to Burl Lewis and Doris Aline (Tumey) Hedge. She married Robert Houchin February 22, 2000.

Connie was employed at Farbest Foods. She loved gardening and photography.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Houchin; one son, Clarence Michael Uppencamp, Jr., Jasper; her mother, Doris Hedge, Dennison, Illinois; seven sisters, Christine Messmer, Birdsey, Sharon Montgomery, Winslow, Debbie Mendel, Jasper, Sue Arnold, Dale, Kimberly Hedge, Tennesse, and Bridgette Hamm and Nancy Graham, both of Evansville; four brothers, Gary Uppencamp and wife Linda, Gentryville,
Henry “Butch” Uppencamp and wife Kelly, Ferdinand; and Tim and Terry Hedge, both of Tennessee; one grandson; two granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Burl Hedge, her stepmother, Anna Uppencamp, her adopted father, Henry Uppencamp, and one brother, Paul Monroe.

Services at 2 p.m. (EDT) Saturday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Friends may call from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (EDT) Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared with the family online at
