Wanda J. Denton, 82, Huntingburg

Wanda DentonWanda J. Denton, 82, of Huntingburg, died Monday (March 9) at The Timbers of Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg October 27, 1932, to Jesse and Maggie Claire (Stapleton) Hall.

Wanda was employed in local woodworking factories for 40 years and after retirement worked at Walmart in Jasper for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was an avid Tony Stewart and NASCAR fan.

She is survived by one son, Robert Gene Denton, Jr., Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters, Rebecca “Book” Schaber, Huntingburg, and Sandra Thomas, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one brother, Terry Hall, Jasper; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services at 2 p.m. (EDT) Thursday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Mayo Cemetery near Duff. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com.
