JASPER (Memorial Hospital) – Family physician Stanley Tretter has been named as the first-ever Chief Medical Officer at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.

The chief medical officer (CMO) position is a new position that will join Memorial Hospital’s administrative staff and act as a liaison with the medical staff.  In addition to the CMO position, Dr. Tretter will continue to practice at Dale Family Medicine on a part-time basis.  Dale Family Medicine, including Dr. Stanley Tretter, Dr. Rebecca Ferguson, and Kristen Bree, NP-C will maintain full time medical care for the Dale area and Spencer County.

Dr. Tretter received his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed his residency at the Deaconess Family Practice Residency Program in Evansville.  He joined the active medical staff at Memorial Hospital and began working at Dale Family Medicine in 2001.  He is board certified in Family Medicine.  Dr. Tretter currently serves as the Medical Director of Core Nursing and Rehab of Dale and as a Spencer County Health Officer.

Dr. Tretter has served in many leadership roles at Memorial Hospital and throughout the community including the Spencer County Board of Health, Spencer County Child Protection Team, Memorial Hospital’s Board of Directors, Memorial Hospital Physicians Advisory Council, and the Edwin C. Tretter Foundation.

Dr. Tretter, his wife, Jennifer, and their three daughters reside in Spencer County.
