Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz Appointed State Initiative Commissioner

Terry SeitzJASPER (NNDC) – Jasper mayor Terry Seitz has been named one of 52 commissioners to the Thriving Communities, Thriving State initiative administered by the Indiana University Public Policy Institute. The initiative, chaired by former Indiana Chief Justice Randall Shepard, involves citizens, stakeholders, thought leaders, and elected officials in conversations about the challenges and opportunities for creating a vibrant future for Indiana.

The group will meet over a 15 month period to analyze unbiased research and use a policy-based approach to reveal nuances about the Hoosier populace and economy. The activities are based on designation of communities as urban, mid-sized, small town/rural, or rural county seats. Seitz represents Jasper as mayor of a mid-sized city.

Session topics will include demographic shifts, health and well-being, economy, and communities connected.
The Public Policy Institute is part of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
