Doug CurlesDouglas Ray Curles, 63, of Keystone Heights, Florida – formerly of Jasper – died Wednesday (January 14) at his home. He was born at Honolulu, Hawaii April 19, 1951, to John and Eileen (Joaquin) Curles. He married Patricia Russell September 8, 1973, at Tampa, Florida.

Douglas served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to1970. He loved volunteering for churches, cooking in soup kitchens, and sitting on his back porch enjoying nature.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pat Curles; two daughters, Tanisha Curles and husband Ken, Evansville, and Tyan Mullen and husband Brian, Jasper; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Eileen Jakcsy and husband Ron, Keystone Heights, Florida; two sisters, Tobbie Valentine and husband Alvin, Dade City, Florida, and Leilauni Wright, Cincinnati, Ohio; and three brothers, John Curles and Jerry Parish and wife Lorrie Ann, all of Keystone Heights, Florida, and Terry Parish, Gainesville, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Edwards Curles, Sr. and one brother, Greg Curles.

Services 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial following in Jasper (Enlow) City Cemetery. VFW Post No. 673 will conduct military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Achieve International, Indianapolis, St. Joseph Church, or to St. William Catholic Church,
Keystone Heights, Florida.
