Cheryl A. Walters, 67, Holland

edited copyCheryl A. Walters, 67, of Holland, died Sunday, January 25. She was born in Springfield, Missouri, March 17, 1947, to Rev. Etshel and Wilma Hillhouse.

She was a 1965 graduate of Boonville High School, the school’s homecoming queen her senior year. After living in five other states and in Belgium, she returned to the area and worked as a cafeteria manager at Tecumseh Junior/Senior High School in Lynnville.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James L. “Jimm” Walters; one son, Sean G. Walters and wife Angie, New Castle, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Tamara Lubbehusen and husband Kevin, Holland; one brother, Darrell Hillhouse and wife Dee Ann, Princeton; four sisters, Carol Bunner and husband Ray, Lynnville, Sandra Lowry and husband Ron, Fairfield, Illinois, Brenda Snyders, Evansville, and Estelene Liggett, Newburgh; five grandchildren, Brooke, Ethan and Hailey Lubbehusen, Holland, and Seth Walters and wife Taylor and Zach Walters, all of New Castle, Pennsylvania; and one great-grandson, Kamron Lubbehusen, Ferdinand.

Servces at 2 p.m. (EST) Saturday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Fairmont Cemetery. Pastor Rick Ballard will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday and from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at
