JPD INVESTIGATING A “LEAVING THE SCENE” ACCIDENT

JASPER (NNDC) – Jasper police say they are looking for a vehicle they say left the scene of an accident at the intersection of 6th Street and Carroll Street early Monday evening.

JPD says the vehicle they are looking for is a red, late 80s or early 90s model pickup truck that was pulling a red trailer.

Police say the suspect vehicle will h ave front and passenger side damage.

Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to call Jasper police at 812-482-2255, or you can leave a message on the local police anonymous tip line at 812-481-COPS (2677).

LOCAL WOMAN CHARGED WITH SHOPLIFTING

JASPER (NNDC) – Jasper police have arrested 46-year old Amy Durcholz of Jasper on charges of Shoplifting and Criminal Tresspassing.

JPD says they were called to the local WalMart store in north Newton Street shortly after 2pm Monday.

Police say Durcholz attempted to take baby items, yarn and food items totalling $67.03.

Police also say the Criminal Tresspassing charge is due to the fact Durcholz has previous shoplifting incidents at the same WalMart and has been banned from the business.

LOCAL MAN CHARGED WITH SHOPLIFTING

JASPER (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man has been arrested for alleged shoplifting.

Jasper police say 34-year old Ryan Braunecker attempted to take a can of tobacco from the Holiday Foods store in the Jasper Manor Shopping Center late Monday morning.

JPD says Braunecker also admitted to taking a can of tobacco this past Friday from the same store.

Total value of the two cans of tobacco; $6.44.

FERDINAND MAN CHARGED WITH O.W.I. & LEAVING SCENE OF ACCIDENT

FERDINAND (NNDC) – A Ferdinand man is facing charges after police say he struck a utility pole in a local trailer park and then left the scene of the accident Sunday.

Taken into custody was 39-year old Bradley Mitchell who lives in the Cedar Manor trailer park on West 9th Street in Ferdinand.

FPD says Mitchell was intoxicated when his car struck the utility pole. He was later located by police at his home. He’s charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

HUNTINGBURG MAN CHARGED AFTER BEING PULLED OVER BY POLICE

HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – Huntingburg police arrested and charged 27-year old Cruz Lopez Sandoval Saturday evening following a traffic stop.

HPD says an SUV driven by Sandoval was speeding while traveling north on Van Buren Street near 19th at about 6:30pm Saturday.

After Sandoval was pulled over at Van Buren and 22nd Street, police discovered he had never received a driver’s license.
