Robert L. “Bob” Case, 92, Huntingburg

Robert CaseRobert L. “Bob” Case, 92, of Huntingburg, died Monday (January 19) at The Timbers of Jasper nursing center in Jasper. He was born April 12, 1922, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, to Elmer Guy and Sarah Belva (Ritter) Case. He married Emma Grace Swartsfager August 29, 1950, in Mt. Carmel. She died November 4, 2011.

Bob worked for and retired from the Southern Railroad. He was a member of Central Christian Church where he served as church treasurer. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed playing music.

He is survived by one daughter, Karel Abell and husband Rex, Huntingburg; one son, James Case and wife Shari, Evansville; daughter-in-law Lana Case, Evansville; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Case; two brothers, Harold Alvin and Raymond Guy Case, and three sisters, Mable O’Leary, Frances Prather, and Dorothy DeLeon.

Services at 11 a.m. (EST) Wednesday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared with the family online at
