Three Hurt, Not Seriously, In Saturday Accident (BLOTTER)

NO ONE HURT IN SUNDAY AFTERNOON ACCIDENT

JASPER (NNDC) – No one was hurt in a two-vehicle accident late Sunday afternoon in Jasper.

Jasper police say an SUV driven by 22-year old Ashley Lytton of Jasper was stopped in the southbound lanes of Newton Street near 37th Street when a minivan rear-ended her vehicle.

The minivan was driven by 21-year old Nicole Elliott of Jasper. No citations were issued in the accident that happened at about 5:50pm Sunday.

Estimated damage to the Lytton’s SUV was $2500; damage to the Elliott minivan was an estimated $1000.

DRIVERS ESCAPE INJURY IN SUNDAY ACCIDENT IN BIRDSEYE

BIRDSEYE (NNDC) – No one was hurt in a two-vehicle in Birdseye Sunday afternoon.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says a car driven by Brooke Huff of Birdseye was stopped in the eastbound lane of 2nd Street at the intersection with Indiana 145. DCSD says she then proceeded into the intersection and into the path of a car driven by Natasha Crews of Eckerty and the two vehicles collided.

The force of the impact caused Huff’s vehicle to end up in the westside of Indiana 145 partially facing south. Crews’ vehicle ended up in the southbound lane of Indiana 145 facing south.

Damage estimates were $5000 to the Huff vehicle; $4000 to the Crews car.

THREE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON JASPER’S NORTHSIDE

JASPER (NNDC) – Three people people were taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle accident late Saturday night.

Jasper police say an SUV driven by 17-year old Christine Correll of Celestine was leaving the parking lot of the Wendy’s restaurant on north Newton Street about 10:30pm but pulled into the path of a southbound minivan and the two vehicles collided.

Jasper police say the van was driven by 17-year old Brice Ramos of Rome, Georgia. JPD says Ramos and a passenger in the van with him were taken to Memorial Hospital by ambulance. JPD says Ramos complained of pain to his upper left arm. His passenger, Maria Sanchez (no age given), complained of neck and back pain.

Meanwhile, Correll was transported to the hospital by private vehicle with chest pain. She was cited by JPD for failure to yield.
