Accident Near Dubois Crossroads Kills French Lick Man

DUBOIS (NNDC) –  A French Lick, Indiana man is dead this morning after a single vehicle crash in northern Dubois County.

Indiana State Police at Jasper say at about 5 this morning, 65-year old Ronald L. Garrison was traveling westbound on Indiana 56 near Indiana 545 (known locally as the Dubois Crossroads).

ISP says about a quarter of a mile west of Indiana 545, Garrison began to slide on black ice and lost control of his pickup truck. Garrison’s truck slid off of the north side of the roadway and began rolling. The truck eventually came to rest after slamming into an embankment.

Garrison was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dubois County Coroner’s Office.

He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

This is the first fatal traffic accident in Dubois County in 2015.
