Minor Injuries In Two-Vehicle Accident (POLICE BLOTTER)

JASPER (NNDC) – A Birdseye woman complained of chest pain after the minivan she was driving was involved in a two-vehicle accident Thanksgiving evening on Jasper’s far southside.

The accident happened at the intersection of Indiana 162 (Third Avenue) and the Indiana 162 bypass near the Dubois County Highway Garage at 7:50pm Thursday.

Patty Morgan told Dubois County Sheriff’s Department deputies she was driving southbound on Third Avenue when a northbound pickup truck driven by Jacob Sterling of Jasper turned in front of her and the two vehicles collided.

DCSD says Morgan did have the green light as she approached the intersection. Sterling was cited for failure to yield. Morgan was treated at the scene for her chest pain by Dubois County EMS. Both vehicles involved in the accident were totaled.

HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man was taken into custody Wednesday evening for driving without a license. Huntingburg police were alerted about a possible intoxicated driver driving south on U.S. 231 from Jasper.

HPD followed the vehicle to a home on Van Buren Street where they then spoke with the driver, Jesus Franco of Huntingburg.

HPD says Franco advised them that he did not have a license. HPD says Franco has never been licensed. He was taken into custody.
